Discovering Myself Through Astrology: Using ChatGPT to Decode My Birth Chart and Past Lives

Astrology has always been fascinating to me. It feels like a cosmic map, revealing the paths and patterns that shape who we are. Due to the record success and incredible gift of music, Kendrick Lamar’s ‘reincarnated’ track from his recent release ‘GNX’ caused some conversation online about past live regressions. Past life regression is a therapeutic practice that aims to access and explore memories from alleged past lives through hypnosis or deep relaxation. Earlier this year, I decided to dig deeper into my own natal chart to understand myself better and explore how astrology can guide my personal growth. I’ve used it to learn about my career path and different meditative practices. Since I don’t have the Kendrick budget for Past life regression therapy, ChatGPT, and my inquisitive nature, it is.

Here’s how the process unfolded, what I discovered, and how you can use tools like ChatGPT to explore your own chart and gain clarity on your life journey.

My Astrological Journey: A Focus on the South Node and 12th House

So, two things: your South Node represents your past life traits and karma, and your placements in the 12th House represent your karma and the subconscious.

The South Node represents your soul’s comfort zone and habits developed in past lives. It shows the qualities, skills, and behaviors you’ve already mastered but may need to balance or evolve from in this life.

12th House: Karma and the Subconscious

The 12th House is often associated with hidden realms, spirituality, and karma. It represents what lies beneath your conscious awareness, including past life memories, unresolved lessons, and deep subconscious fears or strengths.

  • Planets in the 12th House:

    • These planets reveal karmic energies influencing your current life.

    • For example, Venus in the 12th House might suggest hidden or karmic relationships, while Mars could indicate unresolved conflicts from past lives.

  • Themes of the 12th House:

    • A strong connection to spirituality or mysticism.

    • Potential for isolation, deep introspection, or a sense of longing.

    • Opportunities for profound healing through shadow work or spiritual practices.

While the South Node reflects past life comfort zones, your North Node indicates the direction your soul is meant to grow in this life. Balance between the two is key.

What I Wanted to Explore

While I’m familiar with my Sun (Gem), Moon (Sag), and Rising (Scorp) signs, I wanted to dive into deeper, karmic elements of my chart:

  1. The South Node: Represents past life energies and talents and the habits I’m meant to outgrow.

  2. The 12th House: Often called the “house of the subconscious,” it holds hidden karma, spiritual themes, and even residue from past lives.

I shared my birth chart with ChatGPT to guide me and asked it to analyze these placements.

South Node in Sagittarius: Letting Go of Old Patterns

My South Node is in Sagittarius, which indicates that in past lives, I likely embodied the traits of a seeker, philosopher, or teacher. Independence, exploration, and wisdom came naturally to me. However, I may have struggled with commitment and collaboration, relying too much on personal freedom. 🙄

In this lifetime, my North Node is in Gemini, pushing me to balance my independence by building connections and engaging in meaningful conversations. This means leaning into curiosity, learning from others, and focusing on smaller, immediate connections rather than always chasing the “big picture.”

What I Learned:

  • I need to trust others more and embrace collaboration.

  • My growth lies in listening, communicating, and staying grounded in the present moment.

  • This alignment challenges me to build community while using my innate wisdom to guide and inspire others. (Dream Bully activated 😊)

12th House in Capricorn: Healing Karmic Burdens

The 12th House in astrology often represents what’s hidden—our subconscious fears, spiritual growth, and karmic lessons. In my chart, Capricorn rules this house, and it contains three significant planets: Uranus, Neptune, and potentially Saturn.

  • Uranus in the 12th House: This reveals that I may have been a reformer or visionary in a past life. However, this energy can also bring a sense of isolation or the need to break free from tradition in this life.

  • Neptune in the 12th House: A deeply spiritual placement, Neptune connects me to mysticism, dreams, and creativity. Yet, it also warns of the potential for escapism or disconnection from reality.

  • Capricorn’s Influence: This suggests I carry subconscious fears of failure or inadequacy, likely tied to responsibilities or leadership roles in past lives.

What I Learned:

  • My healing requires structured spiritual practices, such as meditation or journaling, to balance these powerful energies.

  • I need to ground my creativity and intuition into tangible, real-world projects.

  • Rest and self-care are just as important as striving for success.

This analysis read me up and DOWN! 😭

Using ChatGPT for Astrological Guidance

The best part of this process was how simple and accessible it was. By sharing my chart and asking specific questions, I uncovered detailed insights about my karmic patterns and areas for growth. Here’s how you can do the same:

Steps to Explore Your Chart with ChatGPT

  1. Get Your Natal Chart: Start by pulling your chart online using free tools like Astro.com or Co-Star. You'll need your birth date, time, and location.

  2. Focus on Specific Areas: Decide what you want to explore—your Sun/Moon/Rising, Nodes, or particular houses and planets.

  3. Ask Thoughtful Questions: For example:

    • “What does my South Node in [sign] mean for my past life and current growth?”

    • “What themes does [planet] in the 12th House suggest, and how can I work with this energy?”

  4. Apply the Insights: Use the analysis to reflect on your life patterns and find actionable steps for healing and personal growth.

Practical Strategies I’m Implementing

Here’s how I’m using the insights from this process in my daily life:

  1. Structured Spiritual Practices: With Capricorn in the 12th House, I’ve started meditating daily and journaling nightly to understand my subconscious better.

  2. Focusing on Connection: To align with my North Node in Gemini, I’m dedicating time to building meaningful relationships and staying curious about others’ perspectives.

  3. Grounding Creative Energy: I’m turning spiritual and creative ideas into something real and impactful by channeling my Neptune and Uranus placements into tangible projects. (For example, writing this blog and sharing my curiosities with the world.)

Why This Matters

Astrology isn’t just about knowing your Sun sign—it’s a tool for self-awareness and transformation. Using ChatGPT allowed me to uncover layers of my personality and soul’s journey that I hadn’t fully explored. It’s a reminder that growth comes not from avoiding challenges but by leaning into them with curiosity and intention.

Quotes like “written in the stars “ or Bible verses indicating “it is written” have to mean something, right? Do you think God created the planets so we could dream up schemes to visit? Baby, it’s guidance in the skies. 😂

With Realness,
